Tropical Depression Stirs In Gulf, Threatens Mexico

GULF OF MEXICO (CBSMiami) -- The fourth tropical depression this season has formed in the Gulf of Mexico, the National Weather Service has announced.

As of 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 19th, the storm was moving westward toward Mexico, about 175 miles east-southeast of Tuxpan, Mexico.

The center of the storm was located near latitude 20.0 North, longitude 95.0 West, moving toward the west at 8 mph (13 km/h), and this motion, with a slight decrease in forward speed, is expected during the next day or two.

On the forecast track, the center of the depression is expected to move inland over eastern Mexico on Monday.

A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Laguna Verde to Rio Panuco, Mexico.
