Exclusive: Witness Responds To Twitter Backlash

MIAMI (CBS4) - One witness in the George Zimmerman trial became a Twitter trending topic nationwide when she took the witness stand.

Rachel Jeantel, a childhood friend of Martin, was the last person to speak with him on the phone before his death and testified about her final moments with him on the phone.

People expressed a wide range of opinions about Jeantel on Twitter while she was testifying.  In an exclusive interview with WFOR-TV, Jeantel said she's not affected by what people said about her.

"You're not going to hurt me because I'm still going to live my life," said Jeantel.

She said she wasn't surprised at what people had to say about her on Twitter.

"It's the generation we live in, we always judge," said Jeantel. "I'm not going to judge you, I'm not because I got my own problems.  I've got to judge me before I judge you.

"You think I want to hear about your problems?" said Jeantel. "Your problems are your problems. I don't want to judge you, you're not my business."

The experience of losing her friend has given Jeantel a new outlook on life.

"Live your life to the fullest, because you never know what's going to happen," shared Jeantel.
