Fins Roster Filling Up Fast

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Teams can't officially add free agents until 6 p.m. Friday, but the Dolphins are closing in on the 90-man roster limit for the 2011 pre-season.

According to Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post, the Dolphins are currently at 80 players heading into Thursday afternoon. That includes the acquisition of Reggie Bush, re-signing Tony McDaniel, and the signing of 11 unrestricted free agents.

That leaves the Dolphins with roughly 10 open spots they can fill heading into training camp. But, the Fins may not be in the market for many more big name players.

There are some big names still on the board including former New York Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards, running back Joseph Addai, running back Darren Sproles, and other one-time stars looking for work.

The Dolphins need a good backup outside linebacker and some of the names out there include Rocky McIntosh, Clint Sessions, Matt Roth, and Manny Lawson. The Cardinals are high on Lawson, but he'd be a good fit as a backup in the Fins' 3-4 defense.

But, it's looking increasingly like Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams have indeed played their last downs as members of the Miami Dolphins. After the fins acquired Reggie Bush, the need for Brown dropped. Williams' value diminished when the Fins drafted Daniel Thomas.
