Judge Allowing Media, Public Access To Pretrial Hearings For Confessed Parkland Shooter

PARKLAND (CBSMiami) – The judge in the trial of the confessed Parkland shooter will allow media and public access to pretrial hearings.

Lawyers for Nikolas Cruz argued intensely pretrial coverage would jeopardize his right to a fair trial.

Cruz, now 22 years old, faces the death penalty if convicted in the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

Seventeen people were killed and another 17 wounded.
