MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami Beach is ending the South Beach curfew put in place weeks ago to avoid spring break chaos.

The weekend curfew shut down the entertainment district starting Thursday nights at 8 p.m.

The move came after large crowds of people flocked to South Beach, caused chaos and forced Miami Beach to call it a state of emergency.

The city says it will remain under the countywide COVID-19 curfew until April 12.
