Report: Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez To Announce Run For Congress

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez may be ready for his next campaign.

CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald reports Gimenez is going to run for Congress.

The Herald cites three sources who tell them Gimenez will make the announcement next Wednesday.

Gimenez, a Republican, would run in the 26th District against incumbent Democrat Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, who's in her first term.
