Bicyclist Hit, Killed By Brightline Train In Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) - A man on a bicycle was struck and killed by a Brightline train early Tuesday morning.

It happened in the 3300 block of North Dixie Highway in Pompano Beach.

Witnesses told Broward sheriff's deputies that the man was riding his bike across the tracks and was trying to beat the train when he was struck. He died at the scene.

The sheriff's office has not released the man's name.
