Two Dead In Roll Over Crash On Turnpike In Hialeah

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Two people were killed in a rollover crash on the Turnpike extension.

The crash happened early Friday morning in the northbound lanes just north of Okeechobee Road. The Florida Highway Patrol said it appears the driver lost control around 4 a.m.

"Preliminary indications show that the vehicle struck the guardrail causing two of its passengers to be ejected. There was a total of four passengers in the vehicle plus the driver. One of the passengers being a three-year-old child, a little boy. The little boy was also ejected from the vehicle but is in stable condition. The child survived. Two of the passengers were confirmed deceased on scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue," said FHP Lt. Alex Camacho.

The boy was taken to Kendall Regional Hospital.

Camacho said the driver and the front seat passenger survived the crash.

The women who died have been identified as 35-year-old Yamilca Cisnerno De Vasquez and 60-year-old Maria Ines Suss, both are from Homestead.
