MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A small group of migrants landed Tuesday morning on Virginia Key.

The migrants made their journey in a small boat with a sail which was spotted by Chopper4 beached by a jetty on the north side of the point.

The migrants were originally taken to the main lifeguard tower. Chopper4 overhead found what looked to be three men and woman.

They were then escorted to a shady area near the tower by lifeguards and park personnel where they waited for U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents.

No information on their nationalities or how many days there were at sea have been released.
