TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/NSF) - Florida's county supervisors of elections have already sent out more than 1.5 million ballots to overseas and military voters for the August 30th primaries.

The first big wave of what used to be known as "absentee" ballots for in-state voters will get in the mail starting July 26th.

The overseas and military ballots already sent out were predominantly from Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Pinellas, Hillsborough and Orange counties. The vote-by-mail count was noted as the Division of Elections announced that Floridians who want ballots mailed to them for the primaries must make requests with county elections offices by August 24th.

Registered voters can pick up vote-by-mail ballots from their counties up to the day before the election.

Of the ballots already out, Republicans accounted for 626,019 and Democrats accounted for 610,328. Another 250,261 ballots went to people with no party affiliation and 36,457 were sent to people registered with one of the state's minor parties.
