July 4th Events For Everyone In South Florida

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Happy birthday America!

It's the fourth of July which means it's time for barbecues, parades, fun by the pool and fireworks!  There are plenty of events happening all over South Florida that can fill whatever your July fourth celebration preference may be.

America's Birthday Bash
Bayfront Park, Miami

One of the most known parks in Miami, Bayfront Park, is a popular destination for tourists, especially from the cruise lines. Located on the bay next to PortMiami and the AmericanAirlines Arena, it is a location of a series of free events and classes all year round. Celebrating Independence Day at the park means free admission including a free kids' zone from 3 p,m. to 7 p.m. and the largest fireworks spectacle at 9 p.m. Just note that no cans, coolers or personal fireworks are allowed, although with such an array of restaurants and bars, libations will not be an issue.

4th of July at The Biltmore Hotel
1200 Anastasia Avenue, Coral Gables

Join in the festivities while celebrating the 4th of July at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. Grounds open at 5 p.m. while a concert by the Greater Miami Symphonic Band begins at 7 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m.

The Barnacle Old Fashioned 4th of July Picnic
3485 Main Highway

Bring a picnic or purchase burgers and hot dogs from The Barnacle Society, live music, lawn, table and board games, kids' crafts, a scavenger hunt, make and fly a kite and more! Music by the J Street Revival. From 11:00 am to 4:00 pm

Race To The 4th
Homestead-Miami Speedway

This year marks the seventh year of the Race to the 4th in Homestead. This free admission event begins at 6 p.m. with live music, games and a fireworks display at 9 p.m. Miami Highway, a local group of musicians will be playing popular rock and roll hits and patriotic songs. Another local band, Above The Skyline, will be regaling the crowd with alternative rock hits to put everyone into the 4th of July spirit. Come out and enjoy the sounds of America as the City of Homestead celebrates the birth of our country.

4th of July Spectacular On Fort Lauderdale Beach

Part of A1A is shut down for this beach blowout. The City of Fort Lauderdale puts on an amazing celebration which begins at 12:30 p.m. with family activities including a DJ and beach games. Music continues throughout the evening with fireworks on the beach at 9:00 p.m.

Hollywood Beach July 4th Star Spangled Spectacular
Hollywood Beach & Broadwalk

There will be fun for all ages at this celebration of our nation's 240th birthday. Start off at Charnow Park (Garfield Street and the Broadwalk) with a DJ and concerts featuring High Tolerance. At the Johnson Street Plaza, Ploomie and the Steel Harmonix perform at the Beach Theatre Stage. The offshore fireworks display starts at 9:00 p.m.

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino's Fourth of July Party
1 Seminole Way, Hollywood

Live entertainment, food trucks and fireworks show by the world-famous Grucci of New York at 7:00PM.
