MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) — An online transaction turned into an armed robbery that left two people shot in Miami Gardens.

Police said it began with the attempted purchase of an iPhone through social media.

Two people agree to meet up at Scott Park at 17710 N.W. 15th Court and when the victims arrived to purchase the item, shots were fired.

Authorities are now looking for the shooter.

They want to remind the public of safe spaces, like crowded public areas or even the local police department, that can be used for transactions between strangers.
