COOPER CITY (CBSMiami) – It was a little league baseball game that ended in a big-time brawl.

Cell phone video caught the fight between two little league baseball coaches. The two took swings at each other on the field during a game Saturday at the Cooper City Sports Complex.

In the video, the little kids stop in their tracks staring as the adults suddenly started throwing punches on third base. Turned out, it was two coaches against each other.

The Broward Sheriff's Office incident report says coach Michael Freed had switched out a player, when the other coach, Alex Diaz, said Freed was playing, so to speak, the b-word ball.

Freed responded with another vulgar slam and the two grown men went at it.

Word about the brawl, and the viral video of it, quickly spread among other parents here at the park as the week progressed.

"It was sad to do," mom Amy Brusco said. "It was not right. And in front of the children. That's who we protect."

Another mom, Laura Gonzalez , added, "It was sad to me to see grown men fighting like that in front of such little children.  Very irresponsible."

Coach Freed told CBS4 reporter Donna Rapado off camera he didn't press charges against coach Diaz, after Diaz apologized.

Still, the Cooper City Optimist Club, which runs the league, decided to let both men go on Thursday.

They suspended the men for the rest of the season and barred them from coaching there for life.
