MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Police have identified and questioned a man in connection to a violent attempted abduction of a young girl walking to school.
Surveillance video from a plaza on N.W. 103rd Street and 7th Avenue, around 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday, showed the 11-year-old child being pulled into a truck stopped in the middle of the road.
She had been walking to school when the suspect called her over to help him with his truck. She told police he asked her to step on his brake pedal because the vehicle was rolling. He used that opportunity to try pulling her inside the truck, but she managed to get away.
Authorities said the person in question has been cooperative and charges are pending.
