MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Sunrise Police have arrested five teenagers, and identified a sixth, who they say are responsible for a violent carjacking in North Miami.

The attack was captured on surveillance video and shows the 24-year-old victim being surrounded as she pulls into her condo parking garage at 1230 N.E. 139th Street.

The teens are seen spraying mace on the victim and then hitting her in the head. They steal her book bag and take off in her Toyota Corolla.

"I had my backpack, laptop, phone, books for school," she says.

The victim, who is studying to be an occupational therapist, tells CBS4's Joan Murray she had a test the next day and her books are now gone along with her mother's car.

"Honestly, the saddest part is that they are teenagers and shouldn't be out like that," she says.

Sunrise Police say they located the stolen vehicle after the mother of one of the teenagers called 911 to say that her daughter was in a stolen car travelling near the Sawgrass.

One of the accused carjackers, a 17-year-old, faced a judge Thursday afternoon. He told investigators he didn't help steal the car but was with the other teenagers when it happened.

The judge gave prosecutors 24 hours to come up with more evidence.

The teenager's mother said outside of court that her son was with the wrong crowd.

The victim is glad there has been an arrest and she wasn't seriously hurt.

"I'm just grateful it wasnt anything and that they caught them already."
