OPA-LOCKA (CBSMiami) -- The pictures are shocking to look at but the mother of a 5-year-old child who was bullied by older students has said they are not quite what they appear.

Images posted on Snapchat showing the little boy, Dantrelle Womack, having his face stapled by high school seniors spread across social media Tuesday. The seniors, at the Opa-locka K-12 school Grace Academy International, thought it was funny and posted it on Snapchat.

"They did not staple his face, but it did catch his finger," said Danielle Aedmas, Dantrelle's mother.

Dantrelle said the older kids, who were temporarily put in charge of a kindergarten class, shot staples at him.

"He just shot me with a staple gun," said Dantrelle.

The boy told CBS4's Hank Tester that although he knew the older kids were playing around, he didn't think they would actually shoot him with the staple gun.

Mom found out about the incident through social media and printed out the photos before meeting with school officials and the student responsible.

"I understand that he was playing but it is a staple gun. It is a weapon. It is in my son's face, you can't play like that," said Aedmas.

Despite the injured finger, Dantrelle did go to school on Wednesday. However, next time, bullies may have to deal with grandma instead.

"To think that this is funny... it is not funny. He is only 5 years old and I do not appreciate this at all," said Dantrelle's grandmother, Darlene Smith.
