"Not Guilty" Plea For Teens In King Carter Death Case

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Attorneys for teens charged in the death of a 6-year old filed not guilty pleas for their clients on Wednesday.
Leonard Adams, 18, and Irwen Pressley, 17, are being charged as adults - facing charges of second degree murder in the death of King Carter who was out getting candy when he was shot and killed.
His death sparked rallies and protests in south Florida, calling for an end to violence that keeps claiming the lives of teens and children in Miami-Dade County.
The first grader was caught in crossfire between two rival groups last month outside the Blue Lake Village apartments in Northwest Miami-Dade.
Police said Adams, Pressley and another teen Tamar Teems, 16, started shooting at a rival identified as "Juju." Someone returned fire, injuring Adams. At some point, Carter was hit.
According to investigators, shooting stemmed from a feud that started on Facebook.
