Jaromir Jagr Named NHL's First Star Of The Week

SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – Jaromir Jagr hit a very special milestone last week, one of the many that he has reached this season while playing with the Florida Panthers.

Jagr scored the 742nd goal of his long and illustrious career on Saturday, moving him into sole possession of third place on the NHL's all-time goal scoring list.

It capped off an impressive week for Jagr, which included his 44th birthday.

On Monday the NHL recognized Jagr's efforts, naming him the league's First Star of the Week.

Minnesota center Erik Haula was named Second Star of the Week and Ottawa goalie Craig Anderson was named the Third Star of the Week.

Jagr scored three goals in his three games played last week, helping Florida to a 2-0-1 record.

So far this season Jagr has scored 20 goals to go with 23 assists for a total of 43 points in 56 games.

It's the 19th time in his NHL career that Jagr has scored at least 20 goals in a season, tying him for the third-most 20-goal campaigns in league history with Dave Andreychuk and Brendan Shanahan.
