WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. (CBSMiami) — Actor Jamie Foxx is being praised for his role off the big screen after coming to the real-life rescue of a man trapped inside a burning truck in California.

The driver lost control of his pickup truck outside of Los Angeles Monday night, causing it to roll several times before bursting into flames, just outside of the actor’s house.

That’s when Foxx jumped in to help, pulling the man to safety from the burning vehicle.

“I don’t look at it as heroic, I just look at it like, you know, I just had to do something. And it all just worked out,” Foxx told reporters.

Authorities said the driver suffered burns and was taken to the hospital.

He was also arrested for driving under the influence.
