MIAMI (CBSMiami) — The days are numbered for Miami Dolphins General Manager Dennis Hickey, according to a report by Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.

In an article on Saturday, Florio said a league source told him that at the end of the season, Hickey is “definitely out.”

The source goes on to say that in his place, director of college scouting Chris Grier would be promoted to G.M., and because Grier is a minority candidate, his hire could be immediate under the NFL’s Rooney Rule without the need for other interviews.

On Friday, Florio reported that “another source said that nothing has been finalized, and that discussions will continue over the next few days.”
