Celebratory Gunfire Wounds 2 Minors, Damages Police Car

ST. PETERSBURG (CBSMiami/AP) -- In separate celebratory gunfire incidents in the St. Petersburg area, two girls were injured, a police cruiser was damaged and five men were arrested.
According to St. Petersburg Police statements, a 17-year-old girl watching fireworks in a backyard was struck in the leg a bullet falling from the sky just after midnight Thursday.
No suspects were identified, but St. Petersburg Police say five men were arrested in separate incidents early Friday after officers were alerted to other reports of celebratory gunfire.
Also in St. Petersburg, a police officer returned to his patrol car late Thursday and found the windshield had been hit by a falling bullet.
Meanwhile, Orlando Police spokeswoman Wanda Ford says a 9-year-old girl leaving church just after midnight Thursday was struck by an errant bullet. Ford says there was "a large amount of fireworks and gunfire at that time."
