CARSON CITY, Nev. (CBSMiami/AP) — Jeb Bush's presidential campaign is planning to ramp up its paid staff in Nevada ahead of the caucuses.

Spokeswoman Emily Benavides says the campaign has nine paid staff members in Nevada now, but plans to ramp up to a staff of about 20 in January.

Nevada Republicans will caucus on Feb. 23. The state is fourth in the nominating process and is an important get for candidates hoping to build momentum through the primary season.

The former Florida governor has endorsements from some high-profile Nevada Republican office holders, but he's lagged behind a handful of primary opponents in national polls.
