It happened in the waters between Port Canaveral and West Palm Beach.

Officials said the barge was being towed en route to Puerto Rico when crew aboard noticed several cargo containers hanging over the port side of the barge.

They learned more than two dozen containers were unaccounted for with an undetermined amount that fell overboard.

One of the cargo containers washed ashore in Port Canaveral.
