The man was shot in the face. The teen, in the foot.
The man’s son, who preferred to remain unidentified, told CBS4 Reporter Donna Rapado his father was fixing a bicycle outside their home on N.W. 12th Avenue and 52nd Street when a car drove by and the passenger opened fire.
“I heard the shots go off and first thing I did was get on the ground,” he explained. “Me, my brother, my sister and my mom just waiting for it to end. I didn’t know if the car was still there or not.”
He then ran outside to check on his father after hearing a relative say he was shot. “I saw him holding his face, leaking blood.”
Sunday’s shooting is yet another in a recent string of deadly violence among teens in the Northwest Miami-Dade area.

Johnny Lubin, 15, was shot and killed as he walked home from school. Police said Lubin was an innocent bystander.
Friday, two other teens were shot outside of a house. Miami-Dade Police said the two shooters simply walked up and opened fire. The female victim, Shania Lowry, 15, used to go to Northwestern.
Also on Friday, police said three teens shot their guns during a high school football game between Miami Central and Carol City at Traz-Powell Stadium, forcing students, parents and players to run for cover.
Police arrested 18-year-old Larico Walker, 18-year-old Kaion Lynch and 19-year-old Mark Trimble.
Back at Sunday’s shooting, the older victim’s teenage son said he also goes to Northwestern High.
“It’s crazy. It’s gotta stop. It’s gotta end somewhere,” he said.MORE NEWS: 'Much More Dire': Coast Guard Ramps Up Search For 38 Missing Boaters Missing For Five Days
Police aren’t saying Sunday’s shooting is connected to the other ones but said they are looking at any and all angles.
