MIAMI (CBSMiami) – For nearly a full two minutes, Felipe Lizano made a tearful plea of innocence to a Miami-Dade judge Wednesday morning. He wept, proclaimed his innocence and begged for mercy.

"You can put on me 20 years probation, whatever you want," Lizano said. "I tell you that I changed my life around. This is not me."

Lizano said he was working at the time of the shooting at a Northwest Miami-Dade car repair business.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I was at work," he said. "I didn't have no gun."

However, the judge didn't buy it and people who witnessed the confrontation and shooting tell a much different story.

Lizano is accused of getting into a confrontation with a man at this car repair shop in Northwest Miami Dade on Tuesday afternoon.

According to witnesses, Lizano and the victim had a prior run-in.

Miami-Dade Police and a witness, who did not want to be identified, said Lizano left then came back with two other men and threatened the victim again even throwing a massive car jack at the victim – a man known as Twin. Then, gunfire.

"He ran to the other guy and took the gun from the guy and went and shot Twin three times," the witness said.

Police told CBS4 the victim got shot twice and is expected to be okay.

Police arrested Lizano shortly after.

One witness said they couldn't believe this all went down in broad daylight at a business.

"Young guys, nowadays, they ain't got the sense of understanding," the witness said.

Back in court, Lizano's attorney implored him to keep quiet.

"Mr. Lizano, stop, stop," the attorney said.

Eventually the attorney shut off Lizano's microphone.

"Sir, they turned the volume off so I can't hear you," the judge said.

The judge ordered Lizano held without bond. She said he'll have a chance to say all he wants at a bond hearing in front of another judge on a different day.

CBS4 News checked his court records which indicated he's been arrested numerous times for violent crimes and drug charges dating back to the late '90s.

As for the victim, workers at the car repair business tell CBS 4 that he's out of the hospital and is recovering.
