Famed Broadway producer Neil Goldberg has been casting the show, which will take place Saturday night at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts for a year. It’s his tribute to his hometown.

Almost all of the talent, some 150 performers in all, are from South Florida.

CBS4 showed up for a special VIP sneak peak of the show held at Goldberg’s private Dream Studios in Pompano.

“I’m back in Broward County, my hometown presenting this Broadway-style production with talented performers from the community we live in. There is so much talent here and there is something in it for everyone,” said Goldberg.

Nick Aquilino is a young singer from Pompano who started singing R&B since age 9. He’s thrilled to be handpicked by Goldberg to sing standards on the show.

“It’s a crazy ride and an incredible to be surrounded by so much talent in the area. You get inspired by all different people you are working with every day,” said Aquilino.

Yasa and Darren are classically trained musicians who couldn’t be happier to perform in this show.
As are dancing sisters Diana and Andrea Pombo, ages 9 and 11, who will impress audiences with their flexibility.

For all those involved in “We,” they say it’s a once in a lifetime hometown theater experience.

“The fact that Broward County has local talent and Neil has been able to assemble them and created a production in this grand scale is amazing. I think the community is lucky and blessed to have Neil Goldberg in our community,” said Linda Carter, President and CEO of The Community Foundation of Broward.

Goldberg has recently announced performers from the “Voice” and “X Factor” will also be on the show as well as Broadway star Linda Eder and Grammy Award winning singer Jon Secada.

The show is on October 3rd at 8pm.
