Trader Joe's Delays Opening Of Davie Store

DAVIE (CBSMiami) - Fans of Trader Joe's are just going to have to wait a little longer for the new Davie store to open.

Originally scheduled for it's Grand Opening at the end of the week, the new store in Tower Shops on University Drive is now scheduled to open on October 9th due to construction delays, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

Next month, the chain's eighth store in South Florida is scheduled to open in Ft. Lauderdale at 1590 N. Federal Highway. It will be the company's 17the store in state.

Trader Joe's has more than 440 stores nationwide.

The grocer, which has developed almost a cult like following, has more than 3,000 items under their Trader Joe's private label including Trader José's salsas and Trader Giotto's marinara sauces. The private label that means it's free of artificial colors, flavors, ingredients, and preservatives.

Some of the most popular are "Two Buck Chuck," bottles of wine for 2.99 a pop and Trader Joe's famous cookie butter products.
