TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/NSF) - Davie Democrat Emmanuel Saye Blimie has opened a campaign account to run next year in a Broward County Senate seat that will be vacated by term-limited Sen. Eleanor Sobel.

Blimie plans to run in a Senate District 33 primary against Plantation Democrat Lauren Book, who leads the children's advocacy group Lauren's Kids and is the daughter of prominent Tallahassee lobbyist Ron Book.

Also this week, Tallahassee Republican Marquise McMiller opened a campaign account to run in 2016 in House District 8, which will be vacated by term-limited Rep. Alan Williams. Four Democrats also have opened accounts to run for the seat, which represents Gadsden County and part of Leon County.

In South Florida, meanwhile, Deerfield Beach Democrat Paulette Armstead joined two other Democrats in opening an account to run in House District 92. That Broward County seat will be vacated by Rep. Gwyn Clarke-Reed.
