CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) --  Coral Gables Police are asking the public to keep a watchful eye on a pair of burglars using distraction methods to steal.

Officers released a sketch of one of the con artists who they say are targeting seniors in the area.

The way they go about it is they have fake ids, uniforms and vehicles to make them look like government or company employees.

The distractor has been known to pose as a construction/ maintenance worker spraying for ants. In that ploy, he tries to lure the victim outside, out of sight from the front door so the other person can go in and steal items.

In another ruse, they pose as a landscaper/tree trimmer working on the neighbor's lawn and try to also get the victim away from the front door.

Victims may not know for several hours or days that their property has been stolen.

Authorities said they are searching for the distractor described as a white man with medium to dark complexion, 5'06" to 5'08" tall, and 35-45 years of age. He was last seen wearing a yellow stripe uniform shirt.

Anyone who has any information in the case is urged to call Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
