HALLANDALE (CBSMiami) — Hallandale Beach Commissioners approved a law to issue tickets for marijuana offenses.
The passing of the law Wednesday night means those caught with as much as 20 grams of marijuana will be issued a fine of $100 dollars instead of facing criminal charges.
The city’s chief of police asked for officers to get trained on the law before they start handing out tickets.
Hallandale Beach is the first city in Broward County to approve the measure.
