FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is investigating a stabbing that claimed the life 31-year-old woman on Sunday.

Authorities said they received a report of a physical altercation at 200 NW 6th Street at around 6 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found Sarah Yates with life-threatening stab wounds.

Yates was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries.

Police said the investigation is on-going.
