MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A Hialeah teen was led away in handcuffs after he reportedly made some explosive threats.
Julian Dominguez, 18, used Twitter to make bomb threats against the City of Hialeah, according to police.
In one tweet to Hialeah’s police department posted around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Dominguez reportedly wrote that he had place explosives around the city.
In another he warned that “casualties will be tremendous,” according to police.
Dominguez is facing charges for making a bomb threat, a second degree felony. As he was led away to jail, he apologized to the city. When asked why he did it, Dominguez said he was high on marijuana.
“He probably thought he was being funny or amusing but he committed a crime,” said Hialeah police spokesman Carl Zogby. “Nowadays those threats are to be taken very seriously.”
Friday morning a judge ordered that Dominguez be held without bond because he was currently out on bail for an alleged sexual battery.
