MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Marlins decided to grab a bat in the first round of the 2015 amateur draft – and they got a powerful one at that.

With the 12th overall pick, the Fish selected Josh Naylor out of St. Joan of Arc Catholic in Ontario, Canada.

The 6-foot, 225-pound lefty hitter lacks speed, but will have serious home run potential.

MLB.com echoes that idea by saying “it will be his bat that will be his calling card.”
