MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Orange Bowl Committee, over the years, has given millions back to the South Florida community.

The event began at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Broward County Convention Center.

The 2015 OBIES, CBS4 is a sponsor for this year’s event, among other things raises scholarship funds and honors individuals whose community service makes South Florida a better place.
READ MORE: Coral Gables resident says city's automatic license plate recognition cameras are a constitutional violationTop local restaurants and chefs provided tastings for a panel of judges, comprised of South Florida’s top foodies and culinary celebs, who vote to determine a Miami-Dade County restaurant winner, a restaurant winner in Broward, a dessert winner and an overall “Flavor of South Florida” winner.
In addition, event attendees were able to vote for the People’s Choice award.
Last year’s winners were; for Overall “Flavor of South Florida” Winner was Sienna Tavern Miami. The Best Miami-Dade Restaurant winner was J&G Grill, the Best Broward Restaurant was S3 and the People’s Choice Award winner was Sienna Tavern Miami.
Fabio Viviani, from last year’s winner Sienna Tavern, is the 2015 OBIES celebrity chef.
