DEERFIELD (CBSMiami) – A woman with multiple sclerosis is telling her story after she was attacked and terrorized inside her own home.

Deborah Schofield-Plasse, 59, says she was in the kitchen getting dinner started Thursday afternoon when two young men in masks came into her home in a gated community in Deerfield Beach. She believes a third waited outside. She says the intruders demanded money and jewelry.

“They called me the crazy cat lady,” recalled Schofield-Plasse.

She said the intruders brought two kittens into the house.

“They killed them, took them out of the paper bag and snapped their necks, killed them  and then they told me they were going to kill my dog, and I told them ‘over my dead body,'” Schofield-Plasse told CBS4’s Maggie Newland.

Her eight-month-old Australian Shepherd puppy was locked in a back room.

“When you don’t have children – two legged children – you’ve only had four legged children, they’re your children and that’s what you think about,” she said.

Despite her MS, she knew she had to fight back. She says she threw her walker at the intruders.

“That’s when he grabbed me and threw me over the table… he took a piece of glass and started cutting my face, my breasts, my arms and legs. I still wouldn’t tell him anything so he picked me up threw me in the living room.”

Finally she says the attackers took a safe full of her medications and left her lying in a pool of blood.  She lay there until her neighbor heard her cries for help.

Now she is left with a broken cheekbone, cuts all over her body and the fear that she isn’t safe in her own home.

She’s thankful her beloved puppy survived the attack, but she’s furious at the intruders.

“Damn you! Damn you! Damn you to hell for what you did to those kittens,” she said.  “Damn you for doing this to me, but I’m still alive.”

Now she says she wants the intruders caught before anyone else gets hurt.
