MIAMI (CBSMiami) —  Dozens of law enforcement officials are taking  to the streets to compete with other agencies, all in the name of safety.

An estimated 150 riders are competing against each other in the 26th Annual South East Police Motorcycle Rodeo at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

As part of the competition, competitors have to maneuver various challenging courses while perfecting safe driving tactics.

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies were just one of the more than 20 law enforcement agencies taking part in the event.

But it’s not all about the competition.

The event benefits COPS Concerns of Police Survivors. Last year’s event raised more than $50,000 for the charity.

For those not competing, there is also a variety of food, booths, a Kids Zone, Paint the Fire Truck and other family-friendly activities.

The event, which ends at 4 p.m., is free and open to the public.
