MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- After taking time off to spend it with his boys, GRAMMY winning singer Ricky Martin is back on the music scene with his 10th debut album and he's back in South Florida.

The international superstar appeared at a Northwest Miami-Dade BrandsMart USA on Monday to sign autographs and promote his new album "A Quien Quiera Escuchar" (Spanish for "To Whoever Wants To Listen"). He has been busy recently promoting the album and the lead single "Adios" both on television and in personal appearances.

There were deafening screams as the Latin heartthrob made his grand entrance at the BrandsMart USA located at 4320 NW 167th Street in Miami Gardens.

Some fans waited up to 12 hours to get a chance to meet the Grammy winner and take a picture with him.

"I wanted to take him home with me," said Alexa Aguilar after greeting her idol.

"It was amazing," said Christina Chang.  "It was really, really, quick but it was quality.  I really love him."

His appearance in South Florida is a huge success as hundreds of fans packed the store to see the "Livin' La Vida Loca" star.

It's been 16-years since that major hit and since then, he's become a bit more domesticated. He has 6-year-old twin boys named Matteo and Valentino.

"A Quien Quiera Escuchar", his first album since 2011 and the tenth of his career, is now available in stores. It's described as the most personal and intimate work released by the singer.

The singer took a break from greeting fans during the event to speak with CBS4 News about his newest CD.

"It's been amazing.  It's been a very beautiful, I would say nine months.  I started recording it almost a year ago in Australia.  And then we came to America.  Obviously we recorded here and went to Puerto Rico. A very international album," said Martin.

After completing his whirlwind promotional tour, Martin will return to Miami to perform February 19th at the Premio Lo Nuestro awards ceremony, where he is nominated in four categories.

Martin will also hit the road in Australia, Mexico and the U.S.

"The reaction of the media and the reaction of the audience has been amazing, not only here in the U.S. but in Latin America, in Europe and it's number one now in some beautiful countries in the Middle East so I'm really happy," said Martin.

During his scheduled U.S. tour this fall, the singer has a stop at the American Airlines Arena on October 24th.
