Police Find Man Dead Inside Hollywood Home

HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) --  The Hollywood Police are investigating the death of a 72-year old man found dead inside his home.

Officers  said they found him in the apartment located at at 7300 Davie Road Extension #108 on Monday morning.

Hollywood Police evidence tape and residue from fingerprint tests cover the apartment door.

Neighbors said the victim was a nice man who had recently become ill.

"He'd say Hi. how you doing? He was nice. Minded his own business," said resident Barbara Oullette.

Detectives are trying to find a stolen 2004 gray Mazda 6I with the Florida tag number CRX-X31. They believe the vehicle may be related to the the incident.

As of Tuesday evening, Police had not released the victim's identity or saying how he died.

The murder left some residents wondering if there is enough security at the apartment building and fearful for their safety.

"I'm shocked over the whole thing. Now I'm scared, I'm locking up everything," said one resident.

Police are asking for anyone with information on the man's death to come forward or call Broward County Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
