South Florida New Year's Eve Clean-Up Takes All Night

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The celebrations continued well into the early morning hours in South Florida for 2015 - and so did the clean-up process.
In downtown Miami, a crowd of more than 150,000 watched Pitbull - Mr. 305 - in concert.

Following the big events, clean-up crews were tasked with picking up the trash and debris left behind.
About 60 workers began cleaning up around 1 a.m. and will be finished by Thursday afternoon, officials said.
Large trucks, street-sweepers, rakes, trash cans and trash bags were brought out to help with the process.
"I worked 19 hours and I haven't been to bed yet," said Betty Lewis with the clean-up crew.
As of 6 a.m., 1,500 trash bags had already been used to clean-up the mess and that number was expected to rise.
Fort Lauderdale workers had the mess left behind cleaned up by 8 a.m. Thursday morning.
"We were up early walking and we were totally amazed and said there's not even a paper, a cigarette butt, nothing on the ground," said Jan Plulin, a New Year's Eve reveler. "They did a great job."
