SANIBEL ISLAND (CBSMiami/AP) — A 19-year-old paddleboarder who went missing in southwest Florida was found dead on Tuesday.

Police say the body of 19-year-old Chad Winter was found about 300 feet offshore in 10 feet of water.

The News Press of Fort Myers reports Winters was from Woodstock, Illinois, and was vacationing with his girlfriend when he went missing Monday while paddleboarding off Algiers Beach.

Police chief William Tomlinson says the teen’s family had arrived in southwest Florida on Tuesday.
