DANIA BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Broward County Sheriff's Deputies are still searching for the person who ran down two young brothers on Bryan Road near Stirling Road in Dania Beach.

The family is in turmoil as they pray that the 14 and 8 year old will recover.

The brothers are spending a third night in the children's unit at the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, hooked up to breathing tubes.

They were struck while walking home from a basketball game on Monday.

Apollo Brown Sr. told CBS4 that his 14-year-old son, Kelvron Florence, appears to be slightly improving and has been placed on a smaller breathing tube. However, he wasn't as sure about 8-year-old Apollo "AJ" Brown's condition.

"Right now they are still in critical condition they are still fighting but they are fighters," said Brown.

The only evidence investigators have right now is a shard of glass from the vehicles head light, a piece of a fog light and an emblem from the grill.

Sheriff's deputies believe a newer model Toyota Tacoma truck slammed into the boys.

Deputies have received some tips in this case but they need critical information before they can make an arrest.

The family is pleading for the driver to come forward.

"He or she know who they are and what they have done. They left me in a lot of pain and I hold a lot of anger but I am humble so my kids are the most important thing to me right now," said Brown.

There is a $3,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Call Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
