Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Cristal Bermudez Nunez said 2-year-old Alessandra Landrum was visiting the Gibsonton home of Brian Moore with her parents Sunday evening.

Authorities say the girl had been petting and feeding Moore’s dog, a Labrador mix, earlier in the day.

According to the sheriff’s office, the dog bit the young girl in the head and face when she fell down in Moore’s backyard.
