ISLAMORADA (CBSMiami) — A Good Samaritan rescued six people off a burning boat on Thursday afternoon.

Coast Guard officials said the 40-foot powerboat was southwest of Islamorada when the fire broke out.

Watchstanders were notified around 2:00 p.m.

Meantime, a Good Samaritan rescued the people from the vessel. No injuries were reported.

A Coast Guard arrived at the scene.

Boaters in the area are being asked to not attempt to approach the burning vessel.
