Richie Incognito To Visit Buccaneers On Monday

TAMPA BAY (CBSMiami) – Former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Richie Incognito may finally have found a team willing to sign him.

According to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, Incognito received an invitation for a workout the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and will visit their facility sometime on Monday.

Incognito, who had been the focal point of the bullying scandal that ripped through the Dolphins locker room mid-way through the 2013 season, had not received any serious calls or consideration for a new team since being suspended by Miami following the incident with former teammate Jonathan Martin.

With the NFL regular season drawing closer by the day, teams are making their way through the preseason and evaluating their needs.

Tampa Bay head coach Lovie Smith had recently been asked about the possibility of signing Incognito, 31,  due to the Bucs ongoing issues with their offensive line but hinted that if the team was interested in the former Pro-Bowler, they would've already brought him in for a visit.

It appears that things have changed for Smith in the days since making those comments as Glazer is also reporting that Tampa Bay could sign Incognito immediately if all goes well during his visit.

The NFL may still attempt to suspend Incognito for his role in the bullying scandal once he signs a contract.  There will likely be a strong resistance from the NFLPA considering that a player cannot be separately punished by both a team and the league for the same offense.

The Dolphins suspended Incognito for the final eight games of the 2013 season for conduct detrimental to the team following the revelation of the bullying issues.
