Easter Bunny Shows Off His Scuba Diving Skills Off The Keys

KEY LARGO (CBSMiami/FKNB) — Easter egg hunts, in the trees or around the house, have their challenges, yet imagine searching for eggs on the ocean floor.

A scuba-diving Easter bunny hid hard-boiled eggs in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Friday for an underwater Easter egg hunt.

The undersea hide-and-seek is a fundraiser that helps Keys children in need throughout the year, and is staged by Keys dive operator Spencer Slate and his Captain Slate's Scuba Adventures.

Each Easter season, Slates gets garbed in a giant bunny suit and dive gear to hide brightly colored eggs. Real eggs and nontoxic colorings are used to avoid any negative environmental impact.

Each year, a fortunate diver who finds a golden egg is awarded a basket of goodies, including dive trips and accessories.
