MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Family and friends gathered outside of the home of a North Miami woman missing for almost 40 days on Saturday evening.
All prayed for Noemi Gonzalez’s, 54, safe return while standing in front of her home located at 487 NE 136th Street.
Noemi Gonzalez disappeared from her North Miami home on February 12th.
Gonzalez’s son, Pedrito Gonzalez, said he last saw his mother when she was sleeping in her bedroom at 2:00 a.m. on February 12. When he woke up and checked on her at 8:00 a.m., he said she was missing.
“It’s been very, very, very hard. It’s one of the hardest trials in our lives. There’s no word to describe the feeling of the family,” said Maria Castillo, Gonzalez’s sister.
“It’s very painful, very painful,” added brother, Joey Colon.
Family and friends described Gonzalez as helpful and generous.
When family friend, Jose Ortiz wanted to go to youth camp, he says Gonzalez helped pay his way. “It’s been a blessing; she’s been a blessing in my life,” he said.
David Ortiz, who plays the guitar said Gonzalez was his biggest supporter. “She encouraged me to play for the church so I could show my talents to other people,” he said.
Colon explained his sister, “would do anything for anybody. She would go shopping for people here and she would give you the shirt off her back.” He went on to say, “We’re a very close family and we miss her.”
Gonzalez’s large family has flooded Miami-Dade and Broward counties with flyers and a billboard in hopes that someone has seen, or can help lead them to Noemi Gonzalez.
The family is offering a $6,000 reward for information that leads to her whereabouts.”t
“The biggest hope is to find her,” said Castillo, “The fear is that we don’t want to pass much time. We want to see her soon.”
