Iconic Batmobile On Display Sunday At Hollywood Car Show

HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) – Lots of fans of the 1960's show about a caped crusader rounding up the criminals of Gotham are going "na-na-na-na-na Batman!" in Hollywood today.

The iconic Batmobile, Batcycle and original Batcopter from the 1960s "Batman" television series are on display at Downtown Hollywood Dream Car Classic. Also at the show is legendary vehicle customizer George Barris.

The family-friendly event, which goes until 2 p.m., features dozens of vintage and custom vehicles on display along Hollywood Boulevard between 19th and 21st avenues. In keeping with the theme, Dream Car Classic visitors are encouraged to dress as Batman, Robin or any other superhero of their choosing.

Barris, known by car enthusiasts and collectors worldwide as the "King of Kustomizers" for his custom cars and specialty vehicles for the film, TV and music industries since the early 1950s, will be on hand for autographs and photos.

"George Barris has been involved in the entertainment and auto-creation businesses for more than 50 years, and he's still busy creating custom and concept cars and making special appearances," said event promoter Joe Bevelacqua of Cobra Joe Productions.

The Dream Car Classic is free.
