Major Traffic Changes Happening On 836/826
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Major traffic lane changes are taking place along SR 836 through the weekend.
In order to make the changes, some ramps were closed.
The existing westbound SR 836 ramp to NW 87 Avenue/NW 12 Street was permanently closed late Friday night.
Drivers must exit at NW 72nd Avenue until Sunday morning at 7 a.m.
Anyone that does not exit at 72nd Avenue Saturday may be subject to a toll on SR 836.
Beginning Sunday morning, February 16, drivers will no longer need to exit at 72nd Avenue to access the ramp which will line up with NW 84th Avenue.
The southbound SR 826 ramp to westbound SR 836 will remain closed through 7 a.m. Sunday morning.
Drivers will need to detour during the closure.
Traffic officials said drivers can use the southbound SR 826 ramp to eastbound SR 836 to connect with westbound SR 836.
On Saturday, February 15 all westbound lanes on SR 836 will close from NW 57 Avenue to NW 72 Avenue between the hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. Sunday morning.
The NW 57 Avenue entrance ramp to westbound SR 836 will also be closed during this time period. Drivers on westbound SR 836 can:
- Exit at NW 57 Avenue, go south
- Head west on NW 7 Street
- North on NW 72 Avenue, west on NW 11 Street
- Connect with the westbound SR 836 ramp
Drivers on NW 57 Avenue heading west on SR 836 can:
- North to Perimeter Road, go west
- Turn south on NW 72 Avenue, west at NW 11 Street
- Connect with the westbound SR 836 entrance ramp to continue west or go to SR 826
Or
- South to NW 7 Street, go west
- Turn north on NW 72 Avenue, west at NW 11 Street
- Connect with the westbound SR 836 entrance ramp to continue west or go to SR 826
The closure will allow the contractor to re-stripe travel lanes for a traffic shift on Sunday morning, February 16.
