MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Police arrested a Miami-Dade police officer and her husband on Tuesday for allegedly filling up their personal cars with gas from a county fueling station.
According to our news partners,the Miami Herald, Rose Sabio, 41, has been charged with organized scheme to defraud and third-degree grand theft. Her husband Husband Giomar Picon, 31, a security guard has also been charged.READ MORE: Cyclist Killed in Overnight Hit-and-Run in Kendall
Authorities told the paper, the two would use a county gas card, only meant to fill up her patrol car, in order to fill up their cars at a South Miami-Dade County Fuel facility.READ MORE: Taste Of The Town: More To Mediterranean Dining At Abba Telavivian Kitchen In South Beach
The theft allegedly took place over several months and amounted to hundreds of dollars. According to the paper, it was captured on hidden surveillance video.
