SUMMERLAND KEY (CBSMiami/AP) – A man, who had been reported missing by a friend, was found dead in the Keys Tuesday.

Charles Salyers, 68, lived on a boat moored in Niles Channel. According to Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Salyers was found dead a day after his friend had reported him missing.

Salyers reportedly used a dinghy with a small motor on it to travel to and from his boat. The friend who reported Salyers missing told deputies that he had last seen Salyers on Saturday and became worried when the man didn’t show up for church Sunday.

Investigators are still trying to figure out what happened to Salyers. An autopsy will determine a cause of death.
